The Our World Underwater Film Festival is a two night event that showcases some of the best underwater photography and video projects.
The Film Festival took place over the course of the weekend, with Friday night being a shipwreck themed night and Saturday's show highlighting recent projects of some of the most talented image makers in the industry.
Each year DPG announces the winners of the Wetpixel & DivePhotoGuide international underwater photography & video competition in association with Our World Underwater at the Film Festival. Jason announced the winners of the video categories on Friday and the photography winners on Saturday.

Other speakers over the two day film festival included Wes Skiles, Jonathon Bird, Bill Fisher, Stan Waterman, Jim and Pat Stayer, Michel Gilbert and Danielle Alary and Howard and Michele Hall as well as many others distinguished image makers.

Highlights for me included Leigh Bishop's deep shipwreck photography, which he does with a tripod, black and white film and long exposures; Bill Fisher & Joe Romeiro's A Lateral Line video on sharks; and the most carefully edited slideshow, Taoira and Unde, in which the colors of the reef were carefully painted into black and white images by Michel Gilbert & Danielle Alary.
Of course, hanging out backstage with the presenters is great fun, as they are all interesting personalities and enjoyable people.

Directly following the Saturday show, we were treated to a permorance by the Wetsuits, an all underwater photographer band.

After the show is the after party - underwater photography style with a VIP suite full of snacks and drinks and ice sculptures.
