ON1 has announced a free update for current users of its Adobe Lightroom alternative, ON1 Photo RAW. Scheduled to be released in mid-May, ON1 Photo RAW 2019.5 promises new updates to increase productivity, feature and performance enhancements, and additional camera support.
The new version will have a full edit history, where each editing step will be viewable, along with the ability to roll-back and compare adjustments. It will be possible to quickly search for photos based on which modules, tools, and filters have been applied; photographers will be able to double-click on a setting and get straight to work on further adjustments.
There will be support for nesting keywords inside of other keywords in the master keyword list, and it will be easier to search, add, remove, and modify keywords. It will also be possible to import a list of nested keywords from other apps, including Lightroom. Plus, there’s good news if you’re new to ON1 Photo RAW, too: New short tutorial videos teaching the basics will be included in the update.
The software costs $100 (one-time purchase) for new users or $80 for users who are updating. A free 30-day trial of the current version is also available. The software, which can be installed on up to five computers, includes both Mac and Windows installers, and plug-ins for Lightroom and Photoshop.
