Olympus In Deep Water
One glaring emission from DEMA this year was Olympus, a long standing member of the Imaging Resource Center. While not attending DEMA may not be directly related to their current woes, it wouldn't be surprising.
In case you have missed the news, Olympus senior executives admitted to hiding information regarding losses on investments. Subsequently, they dismissed their executive vice president, and saw their shares fall in value by almost %30 on Tuesday.
The problems continue as it was announced today that the Tokyo Stock Exchange has put Olympus shares, which have now dropped by almost two thirds of their value, "under supervision." The TSE has also issued a warning that if Olympus does not submit their quarterly earning report by December 14th, the company would be delisted. More information on BBC news.
