“Ocean Soul: Night Swimming with Sea Monsters” Video
By Joseph Tepper, July 28, 2011 @ 04:54 PM (EST)
The Humboldt Squid found in the Sea of Cortez have earned quite a name for them selves in recent years. To some, this name is of a man-eating squid able to drag any diver or fisherman to the depth. To others, the name is simply Diablo Roja- “Red Devil.” But for National Geographic Photographer Brian Skerry, the experience of diving with hundreds of Humboldt at night was something altogether unique.
In a new video from National Geographic, Mr. Skerry describes on of his scariest adventures in the sea of Cortez- photographing the Humboldt Squid. Check out this fantastic video and decide for yourself if these Red Devils live up to their name.
