The Australasia Underwater Photographer of the Year contest is now open for registration and is accepting entries. The competition is co-hosted by the Australian International Dive Expo (AIDE) and Ocean Geographic.
There are several categories open to photographers of all levels and geographic distributions including portraits, seascapes, small exotic animals, and compact cameras. There’s even a category specific for the AIDE region: “Australian Waters.” These images can be taken in fresh or saltwater environments in or around Australia.
There are some sweet prizes up for grabs including trips to Fiji, Cuba, and the Great Barrier Reef. The registration cost is $50 AUD to enter up to 10 images. You can upgrade your registration ($75 AUD) to enter up to 18 images.
