The American State of North Carolina has recently declared the month of October as “Photography Month.” The move by North Carolinian Governor Roy Cooper comes slightly in advance of many photography-related events, such as festivals and fairs, that are scheduled to take place throughout the State during the month of October.
Additionally, the Governor points out that photography, “enriches the lives of those who practice and appreciate the art form,” and that image-makers, “take great pride in sharing their accomplishments in the areas of photographic art,” and the State of North Carolina, “recognizes those photographers who capture our diverse communities and landscapes.” Whether the title will be given to the month every year remains to be seen.
