Nikon D300S Leaked?

By Jason Heller, June 12, 2009 @ 12:37 PM (EST)
We've heard and reported on speculations of a Nikon D400 in our futures, but it iseems like it will be a Nikon D300S that is on the way.

An image of a histogram on Nikon's website with the date May 14, 2009  (image apparently has since been removed) indicates the camera model as a D300S, not D300, which is clearly the label on a D300 histogram.

Additionally you'll note the SD card logo on the LCD - potentially a dual card slot for CF and SD?

Nikon D300S
Thanks to the guys at NikonRumors.com for the discovery

Digital cameras are racing ahead with new models and features but when will Nikon bring out an amphibious version? Im sure they could use the Nikonos V or even the Nikonos RS would have enough room for what they would need. Any thoughts?

It wasn't profitable for them to do so, they now pretty much ignore the underwater market. It's a shame really...

Next week we have an interesting piece going up related to this, stay tuned.

Hmm this could be a good opportunity for someone to maybe aquire the patent for the bodies and develope a digital version. Imagine all those of us who have a cupboard full of lens and other bits.
