Nikon Updates Z-Mount Lens Roadmap

Following the release of their 14–30mm ultra-wide zoom, Nikon has announced some slight modifications to its lens roadmap from August 2018.

In particular, the 20mm f/1.8 and the 24mm f/1.8 have switched places: The 20mm f/1.8 will be released later, next year instead of this year, while the 24mm f/1.8 is promised earlier, 2019 rather than 2020. Also, Nikon has confirmed that four (rather than three) more unspecified lenses will be announced next year, joining the 20mm f/1.8, 50mm f/1.2, and 14–24mm f/2.8. The number of lenses planned for 2021 has been reduced from eight to seven.

In case you’re counting, that makes the same total of 23 Z-mount lenses by 2021 as previously promised. Whatever happens, we’re keeping our fingers crossed that there’s an awesome fisheye and/or fisheye zoom in there somewhere.
