If you’re in the market for a new Nikon DSLR, now would be a great time to pick up something a bit special: Nikon is celebrating 100 years in the business with the release of various commemorative products, including its premium APS-C model, the D500, and its top-of-the-range full-framer, the D5. There’s also a commemorative edition of the 70–200mm f/2.8 and a set of three f/2.8 zooms—the 14–24mm, 24–70mm, and 70–200mm—as well as special editions of three binoculars.
The camera bodies sport a special metallic gray finish as well as Nikon’s 100th anniversary commemorative logo, but are otherwise no different to the regular models.
The D5 and D500 commemorative edition bodies will set you back $8000 and $2800, respectively, while the triple lens kit costs $8000. Oh, and while you’re burning money, why not throw in the Swarovski-made crystal reproduction of the Nikon Model I, as well?
