Side-by-side macro comparison of blennies captured with the Nikon D850 and Sony a7RIII
Ali vs Frazier? Kong vs Godzilla? Alien vs Predator? All epic matchups to be sure, but when it comes to going head to head with your nemesis, there’s only one bout that matters to underwater photographers: the Nikon D850 vs the Sony a7RIII, of course! Luckily, the good people at Backscatter have got you covered in their new article comparing the top-end DSLR and mirrorless full-framers.
CEO Jim Decker spent several weeks with both cameras, shooting in Roatán and Little Cayman, and he talks about his impressions in an in-depth video interview with Backscatter’s media producer Robin Dodd. They discuss the cameras’ features, their strengths and weaknesses when shooting wide-angle and macro subjects in the two locations, and also chat at length about issues surrounding lens choices and performance.
Well, we’re not going to tell you who emerged victorious. You’ll just have to watch the video (below) or read the text summaries and check out Jim’s comparative images and footage in the article.
