About 40km off the coast of Kalimantan and south of Sipadan lies the islands of Sangalaki, Derawan, Kakaban, Maratua, Nabucco and Sanama. These islands have plenty to offer - manta rays, pelagics, pygmy seahorses, coral gardens and a jelly fish lake.
Throw in some strong currents, and we have the ingredients for exciting dives.
Yet this place is not on the radar of most scuba divers and seems almost "deserted" when compared to Mabul/Sipadan. This is because of the difficult logistics...
