
Machine Gun Used In Whale Hunt

The long gun registry in Canada has come under fire from those who hunt for deer and other game. They claim that people don't hunt with shot guns, and want the registry kept for more dangerous weapons.
Well, that's changed. Five people have been charged with wounding a grey whale - with a machine gun.
The injured giant was found swimming off the western tip of Washington State. It was headed out to sea on Saturday when the Coast Guard found it. A preliminary report showed that the whale was shot with a .50 calibre machine gun. A harpoon was also used in the hunt.
The five people arrested are believed to be members of the Makah Tribe...
