Light and Motion Announces Support for Canon HF S30

By Joseph Tepper, May 12, 2011 @ 05:12 PM (EST)

Light and Motion Industries has announced that their 2011 lineup will include support for the Canon HF S30 video camera.

In addition to fitting the S30, the 2011 Bluefin Standard housing incorporates the control technology found in Light and Motion’s line of housings and technologies for the advanced, underwater videographer. Features of the housing include Light and Motion’s One-Touch white balance control, full electronic controls, interchangeable lens bayonet, flip color-correction filter, all part of the aluminum-constructed housing depth rated to 300 feet.

“I’m really excited to have support for the Canon S30 this year,” says Blaise Douros, International Sales and independent documentary filmmaker. “As a former TV production guy, the camera’s ability to shoot 24p and 30p in addition to 60i really appeals to me. Canon’s sensors provide great color balance underwater, and the Bluefin’s One-Touch white balance makes it easy to get great, colorful images. I’ll be shooting the S30 this year for sure!”

The S30’s 1/3” inch CMOS sensor for low light performance is especially useful for underwater videographers; and Light and Motion believed their “One-Touch” white balance controls will compliment the camera’s existing above-water capabilities.
