LED Lights on Nets Could Protect Turtles

New research suggests that one way to end turtle bycatch in nets is by adding LED lights.

Since gill nets are among the most common method for fishing, this addition could make a big difference in protecting turtles. Researchers say that turtles can perceive UV LED lights to avoid being caught up, while fish will be none the wiser.
