The campaign to crowdfund the making of the documentary AMOS: The Movie has entered its last two weeks. Filmmakers Dani Menkin and Yonatan Nir are hoping to secure enough funds to realize their dream of completing the movie, as its subject, world-renowned wildlife photographer Amos Nachoum, journeys to the Canadian Arctic to document the effects of climate change on the local culture and wildlife.
The filmmakers describe why they’re making the film thus: “We believe that Amos' story must be shared with the world. But this isn't just the story of one man, it is the story of humanity and nature, and it carries a universal message. Amos has made it his life’s mission to re-establish a relationship with the biggest, and wildest animals, which society has grown to fear. With every dive, Amos takes a risk, in order to capture the images that will make us fall in love again. Only after we rediscover nature and its wonders will we rediscover our passion to preserve it; this is what we believe in and this is what drives us forward.”
