Kingston Announces USB 3.0 Memory Card Reader
By Joseph Tepper, August 3, 2011 @ 07:00 AM (EST)
Kingston has become the latest company, along with USRobotics and Lexar, to release a new USB 3.0 memory card reader. The new card reader transfers data from CF, SD, micro SD, and Memory Stick formats.
The new USB 3.0 technology featured by these companies is far faster than USB 2.0 or even FireWire. In theory, USB 3.0 offers transfer speeds of up to 5GB/s, although this is impossible in reality with bottlenecking in the hard drive.
