On Monday, JVC announced the availability of the first full-HD 3D camcorder on the consumer market- the GS-TD1 Full HD 3D camera.

The new JVC GS-TD1 features two camera lenses and two separate image sensors in order to capture three-dimensional images similar to the mechanism behind the human eye. The captured video can be viewed on any 3D TV, as well as being exported on a Blu-ray disk for 3D viewing on a Blue-ray player.

Other features of the JVC GS-TD1 include a 3.32 megapixel CMOS sensor, a new shooting engine that allows for 1920 x 1080i resolution, and several shooting modes for 3D and traditional video.

Other specifications are the 64GB of built-in flash memory, SDXC card slot, 3D optical 5x zoom, Optical Axis Automatic Stabilization System for disparity control to give depth to 3D images, and Automatic Parallax Adjustment to optimize the 3D-video comfort zone. It also features a 3.5” 3D touch panel LCD monitor that displays 3D images without any need for 3D glasses, making it easy to check 3D images while shooting and watch 3D playback in the field.
