
JVC Announces GZ-HMI Camcorder With Improved Low-Light Performance

JVC has announced the releases of the Everio GZ-HM1 camcorder, the upgrade to the HM-400. The GZ-HM1 features a 16x zoom lens, a 10.62 megapixel CMOS sensor which takes 10mp still images. It comes with 64GB of internal flash memory and has an external SDHC card slot for extra room.

The new camcorder receives upgrades in its a low light performance, functioning down to 4 lux and the CMOS sensor is now back-illuminated. The camera now also uses two prisms to compensate for both vertical and horizontal shake.

The GZ-HM1 will ship in March 2010 for $1,200.
