July NYUPS Event

 July 3, 2007 @ 09:04 AM (EST)
Source: NYUPS.org
Gear Preview & How to Produce Amazing Underwater Prints: Michael McNamara gets his hands on all the goodies before the rest of us mere mortals. He is also a NYUPS member - we are proud to have him! Michael will be bringing some of the newest cameras and housings from Olympus and Canon to enlighten us on what the manufacturers are doing specifically for us underwater photographers. He will also help us solve our underwater printing questions and help us understand how to get the best prints from several new and affordable ink jet printers (dye based and pigment). Michael will provide a comparison to prints from silver halide-based labs and online services, specifically for underwater prints. He'll give a short overview of the wider color gamuts and display lifespans of the digital printers vs traditional. Improving Your Underwater Lighting: We all have a desire to create images where light is more felt than seen. Mark Synder will talk about different approaches to lighting in the underwater world. He will help us understand the difference between various strobes, lighting positioning and other techniques that will help you produce pleasing lighting on your very next dive and beyond. Mark is a fantastic photographer and NYUPS member. He specializes in producing wide angle images that utilize specific lighting techniques that result in images that "pop". We're eager to have him share this knowledge with the NYUPS...
