Issue 118 of Underwater Photography Magazine Available
By Ian Bongso-Seldrup, January 7, 2021 @ 11:30 PM (EST)

The latest edition of Underwater Photography magazine is now available as a free download.

There’s the usual roundup of industry news and the latest imaging products, which include Backscatter’s Macro Wide 4300 video light, Sea&Sea’s housing for Canon EOS R5, Nauticam’s housing for the Canon EOS R6Keldan’s RC1 remote control for its video lights, and Inon’s SD Front Mask and Filter Adapter for GoPro HERO8/HERO9.

As you might expect—since virtually no one is actually diving—the issue is almost devoid of gear reviews: There’s just one, on an equipment bag by Think Tank Photo. But if you want to read up on technique, there are a couple of articles to enjoy: James Lynott on capturing fluorescence and a reproduction of Backscatter’s excellent article on strobe positioning.

And that awesome cover shot? Keigo Kawamura’s fantastic image of unicorn shrimp, which was the runner-up in the Macro category of the Underwater Photographer of the Year 2020. The same photo also clinched Gold in the Macro Unrestricted category of DPG/Wetpixel Masters 2020 Competition.

Getting your free copy of the latest issue of Underwater Photography magazine is a breeze: Simply sign up with your email to get access. If you’ve already signed up, you can download your copy directly here.
