Isotta Housing for Canon PowerShot G7 X Mark III Announced

Isotecnic, the company that makes underwater imaging products under the Isotta brand, has announced their new housing for the new Canon PowerShot G7 X Mark III. The latest iteration in the G7 X line boasts a 1-inch 20MP stacked CMOS sensor, 8.3fps burst shooting with continuous AF, and 4K/30p and 1080/120p video recording.

Splashed in Isotta’s famed red paint, the aluminum housing features important camera controls at shooters’ fingertips, double O-rings on buttons and dials, and the company’s signature single-handed open/close mechanism. With the supplied adapter, fiber-optic triggering of strobes is possible, and a 67mm threaded port accepts macro and wide-angle wet lenses. The housing also features a built-in moisture detector.

Isotta Underwater Camera Housing for Canon PowerShot G7X Mark III

ISOTECNIC SRL is pleased to announce the launch of its new underwater camera housing for the powerful Canon PowerShot G7X Mark III, 100% crafted and made in Italy, that will capture beautiful photos underwater.

The durable, corrosion-resistant anodized aluminum body in its signature red colour weighs only 770 grams. It’s designed to give photographers use of all buttons and functionalities of the Canon PowerShot G7X Mark III.

The compact Isotta housing offers an ergonomic interface with all aluminum controls placed within easy reach of the user’s hand. To make the interface even more convenient all function icons are laser engraved into the housing and the buttons, so that photographers always know which functions they are using – a unique feature of Isotta housings. Its unique single handed open/close mechanism makes it easy to access the camera.

The back housing features a large window of coated, scratch-resistant glass for the camera display. Different to compact housings of other brands the ensure back housing is detachable from the front body making it easier for the user to access the camera. The housing comes with two solid feet provided stable footing on
the camera table and avoiding scratching of the red anodization.

Another unique feature of Isotta housings are the double O-rings on all buttons, dials and removable parts providing a guaranteed watertight seal. But just to be sure there is a red LED moisture alarm inside the housing, powered by a battery that is replaceable by the user. Working depth of this housing is 100 metres.

Available starting November 2019, the housing will carry a retail price of 950.00 including VAT.

Single HAND OPEN/CLOSE Mechanism

The housing features the easy and secure opening-closing mechanism that Isotta is famous for. Like all Isotta housings the back of the housing is opened via a circular dial that not only is easy to open and close, it also features a fail-safe locking mechanism. This way of accessing the housing is known as being the easiest and safest opening mechanism amongst all brands and the only true single-handed opening system.


Front portholes are built with high quality standards of materials to ensure a perfect image quality. A removable flat port is fitted thanks to markers and a bayonet connection to Canon Powershot G7X Mark III housing. A M67 threaded end allows the use of additional wet wide angle lenses and macro lenses. For extreme additional wide angle lens a shorter porthole is available.


Canon Powershot G7X Mark II own strobe lighting can be used fittng an outside diffuser on the porthole. For better performance with wide angle lenses, one or two external strobes can be connected by optical fiber using the adaptor included.
