Isotta Announces Housing for the GoPro HERO8 Black
By Ian Bongso-Seldrup, March 20, 2020 @ 09:00 AM (EST)

Italian brand Isotta has released its new housing specially designed for the recently released GoPro HERO8 Black, the top-of-the-range model which shoots 4K/60p and 1080/240p video and features Hypersmooth 2.0 stabilization technology. (None of the earlier models of GoPro are compatible with the new housing.)

Built from anodized aluminum and painted Isotta’s signature red, the housing is depth-rated to 200 meters (650 feet) and features the company’s one-handed open/close. Double O-ring seals are used throughout, while the included removable rear hood provides a clear view of the LCD in bright conditions.

Accessories such as filters can be used with the housing, and Isotta is offering separate red and magenta flip filters as well as a double flip holder that has both. A compatible dual-handle tray and a goodman handle are also available.

The housing is available for pre-order from Backscatter priced at $450. The retail price in Europe is €450.

PRESS RELEASE

Isotta Underwater Camera Housing for GoPro Hero8 Black

ISOTECNIC SRL is pleased to announce the launch of its new underwater camera housing for GoPro’s latest action camera Hero8 Black. As all of our housings the Isotta GP8 housing is 100% made in Italy.

The Isotta housing for GoPro Hero8 Black is designed to endure the pressure of deep sea diving up to a depth of 200 meters. Its flat glass lens ensures that you have a clear video at any depth. The housing features the easy and secure opening/closing mechanism that Isotta is known for. Three pins hold the back housing safely in place.

The front lens of the Isotta GP8 has the same shape as the original GoPro Protective Housing allowing GoPro Hero8 specific accessories to be used, i.e. red filters. Isotta is also releasing a red filter and a magenta filter specific to this housing as well as a double filter.

Please note that the size of the housing has changed to previous models, so accessories for GoPro Hero5, 6 and 7 are not compatible with those for GoPro Hero8 Black.

An excellent watertight seal is ensured by double O-rings on the back housing as well as the buttons. An optional hood for the rear display makes it easier to view the screen in bright conditions and is included in the package. Different accessories such as tray with handles or a goodman handle can be mounted by using the M6 and 1/4W threads located on the bottom of the housing. The housing also offers a cold shoe adapter at the top allowing the installation of further accessories such as lights.

The housing will be available from March 2020. The retail price will be 450,00 € incl. 22% VAT. The price of the red and magenta filter sets is 30 € each and the double filter set is 60 € incl. 22% VAT.
