'Into the Deep' Exhibition Now Open
After kicking off last Friday, the British underwater photography exhibition, 'Into the Deep', enters its first full week on display today.
The exhibition is part of the Edinburgh International science festival and is coordinated by wildlife photographers Steve and Kathy Bloom. Featuring photos of sharks, reef fish, marine mammals, and so much more, the exhibit is organized from the oceans surface down to the dark abyss.
The organizers hope that the collection of photographs will not only entertain a broad audience, but educate as well. One of the primary goals of the project to Mrs. Bloom is to show the public how beautiful life in the sea is and how important they are to the survival of the planet.
“I hope they will think twice before throwing plastic bags into the sea or just generally increasing the carbon levels,” said Kathy Bloom, “because global warming will definitely affect all these creatures just as much as the creatures of the land.”
The exhibition, 'Into the Deep', will be open to the public in St Andrew Square between 8am and 6pm until May 1st. More information, and a slideshow of the images, can be found on the official website.
