Ikelite Releases 200DL Housing for the Sony Alpha 7II Series
By Ian Bongso-Seldrup, January 29, 2018 @ 11:00 PM (EST)

Ikelite has announced an updated 200DL version of its housing for Sony’s full-frame a7 II, a7R II, a7S II. The housing is compatible with the a7 II, a7R II, and a7S II, but neither the Mark I nor Mark III cameras, due to differences in control placement.

Unlike its now-discontinued predecessor, which used Ikelite’s old Four Lock (FL) lens port system, the new housing features the company’s latest Dry Lock (DL) port system, which accommodates larger diameter full-frame pro lenses easily. Users who have the FL ports and don’t want to upgrade can convert the housing. Other upgrades follow those on Ikelite’s latest housings: new soft-touch knobs, redesigned buttons that resist salt build-up, and lighter weight overall.

Priced at $1,695, the housing ships without a built-in TTL circuit, so owners of Ikelite DS-series strobes who want automatic flash exposure will need to purchase the separate ST1K Sony Alpha TTL Kit. Lens ports are also not included.
