Ikelite Breaks Out Housing for Canon S100

By Joseph Tepper, November 21, 2011 @ 12:43 AM (EST)

It’s been over two months since Canon announced the S100, a promising predecessor to the already popular S95- and today, Ikelite announced their housing for Canon’s latest PowerShot.

The 12MP compact camera features the much-anticipated Digic V processor, which is said to speed up the camera and limit noise. Standard to Ikelite compact housings, the S100 housing is composed from their clear polycarbonate materials and depth rated to 200ft. The housing one of the few to be announced for the S100, and will offer camera owners an inexpensive housing for a quite capable underwater compact.

Complimenting the compactness of the S100, Ikelite’s housing is a scant 1.4 lbs and is slightly buoyant in freshwater. Availability has not been announced, but the housing will retail for $325. For more information, please visit the product page on Ikelite’s website for more information.
