Ikelite Announces New Lithium Ion Batteries and Charger

Last month, Ikelite unveiled new lithium ion battery packs for their popular series of strobes. The new cells are nearly 20 percent lighter and boast nearly twice as many flashes per charge with an even faster recycle time.
To go along with the new lithium cells, which are also backwards compatible with previous Ikelite strobes, the company has also released a new “Smart Charger.” The charger is especially attractive to photographers on the run abroad: it works within a 100-240V range and comes with AC adaptors.
The charger uses “pulse technology” to get the most complete charge, while also conditioning the cells to extend battery life.
