
Gov. Crist Asks To Postpone Manatee Status Vote

Gov. Charlie Crist is asking Florida Wildlife Commissioners to postpone a vote on whether to change the status of manatees from endangered to threatened.
In a letter to the commission chairman, the governor said the state needs a better method to estimate the manatee population.
There were a record 417 manatee deaths in 2006...
