If you have a free Flickr account crammed with thousands of images, you might be wondering why nothing happened on February 5th—the day new owners SmugMug said it would impose a 1,000-image limit on free accounts. About 97% of free account users aren’t affected.
Well, the company has told members of the press in an email that The Purge has been postponed. In the February 6th email, SmugMug wrote: “Based on feedback from our members and complications some members experienced when downloading photos yesterday, we’ve extended our deletion eligibility deadline until March 12, 2019.”
If you’re among the 3% with an overflowing free account and you want to hang onto it, you’ll have to part with $50 a year for a Pro account.
