Fish Swim to Extinction
By Wendy Heller, September 27, 2008 @ 02:00 AM (EST)
The American Fisheries Society warns of fish in the North American region becoming endangered, mainly caused by human's demand and waste of fresh water. Since 1989 research has proved that their rates of extinction have doubled.
In addition, other freshwater organisms such as snails and mussels are closer to being endangered for the same demand and waste of water. Scientists worry that we will not make efforts to stop these extinctions and drive freshwater species in North America to extinction.
