Wildlife photography can be a sobering pursuit. Just take a look at this viral image of a starving polar bear taken by DPG member and National Geographic photographer Paul Nicklen.
So, every once in a while we deserve a chuckle. And that’s exactly what the finalists of the 2017 Comedy Wildlife Photography Awards provide. Combining humor and conservation awareness is the primary goal of the competition, which received more than 3,500 entries from 86 different countries.
The final winners will be announced later this week. Alongside the contest, the images are featured in two books: Comedy Wildlife Photography Awards and Wild and Crazy: Photos from the Comedy Wildlife Photography Awards. Check out all of the finalists on the CWPA homepage.
