
Final Submissions In Shark Protection Case

Final submissions are expected to be heard today in a court case aimed at protecting grey nurse sharks.
The Nature Conservation Council's Megan Kessler says the main threat to the sharks is commercial and recreational fishing.
She says if the court case is successful, all commercial and recreational fishing in 18 zones along the coast where the fish breed will be banned, along with some types of fishing gear.
"We therefore want to create 1,500 metre no fishing zones around these areas so that the sharks are protected from their main threat," she said...
