Fantasea Confirms Compatibility with New Canon PowerShot G9 X Mark II
By Ian Bongso-Seldrup, March 1, 2017 @ 11:00 PM (EST)

Fantasea has announced that their FG9X housing is fully compatible with the new Canon PowerShot G9 X Mark II, released at the beginning of the year. All FG9X housings continue to be fully compatible with the first version of the camera.

While the G9 X Mark II uses the same one-inch 20-megapixel sensor and 28–84mm (equivalent) f/2–4.9 lens as its predecessor, the processor has been upgraded to the latest DIGIC 7, improving autofocus tracking and providing increased burst shooting speeds in RAW up to 8.2fps. The camera also records 1080p/60p video.

Made out of lightweight, rugged polycarbonate, the FG9X housing provides full access to the G9 X Mark II’s standard controls as well as the camera’s touchscreen, giving users even greater control over settings underwater. A 67mm threaded port offers compatibility with Fantasea-AOI’s new range of macro and wide-angle wet lenses. Check out our recent review of the UWL-09F wide-angle and UCL-09F super-macro wet lenses.

The housing is available in the U.S. at around $400, including on Backscatter.
