Fact or faux: Louis Vuitton has partnered with Nikon to produce a $$$ limited-edition Nikon Z7 that is encased in 24K gold and soft albino buckskin?
Call this concept art by photographer Boonlert Rojanaboworn more of a faux-pas, as it was so convincing that Nikon Rumors picked it up and freaked out Nikon fans across the globe. Rest assured: This is no real camera.
Having said that—as PetaPixel points out—Nikon is no stranger to producing gold-laden limited-edition versions of their cameras. Back in 1984, Nikon produced 2,000 units of a 24K gold Nikon FA camera. And in 2014, the company began selling a gold-streaked version of the Nikon Df for $2,700.
So put your wallets away and save up for something a bit more sensible—say, a gold underwater housing?
