Source: Lembeh-Gulen Critter Shootout
With one competition day left, the Lembeh-Gulen Critter Shootout is proving to be a closely fought contest, with the teams from Lembeh Resort and Gulen Dive Resort neck and neck. In Round 2, the challenge was invertebrates, and the results saw Team Lembeh even up the score again—49.3% to Team Gulen’s 50.7%. While a shooter in Norway took second place in the invertebrate round, the photographers in Indonesia bagged the remaining spots in the top five.
Battling it out from opposite hemispheres, the participants are continuing to produce high-quality images, and the daily seminars and training sessions by team leaders Keri Wilk (Gulen) and Tobias Friedrich (Lembeh) are paying off on both continents. It’s becoming clear that on the Gulen side Luc Rooman is a force to be reckoned with and in Lembeh Wayne MacWilliams is also at the top of his game. But there’s nothing to choose between the two teams overall, and it’s anybody’s guess which continent will win.
The final-round challenge is fish, and voting starts at 10pm CET (5pm EST), May 26, and is open for 24 hours. If you’d like to vote, instructions will be provided on the Lembeh-Gulen Critter Shootout Facebook page. To vote directly, click here. (Update: Voting has now closed.)
