Enter The "Super Bowl" Of International Underwater Imagery Competitions
By Jason Heller, December 2, 2007 @ 03:00 AM (EST)

When Wetpixel & DivePhotoGuide first teamed up to organize an annual international underwater imagery competition in association with Our World Underwater, we had no idea that it would turn into such a popular global event. Now in its third year, the competition is known for producing awe inspiring images and videos, and providing amazing prizes. It truly has become one of the biggest and most prestigious competitions for both amateurs and professionals worldwide. Last year we spawned a sister competition in association with DEEP Indonesia. It was the first time two associated international underwater competitions and exhibits took place on opposite sides of the world simultaneously. Pretty cool!

This year the combined prize pool is over $80,000 worth of amazing prizes, including trips to some of the best destinations for underwater imagery, and gear from some of the best brands in the diving and underwater imagery industries.

Every Entrant in the Compact Camera category will receive one free photo lesson from renowned underwater photographer Marty Snyderman, via TheUnderwaterPhotographer.com.

The deadline for the 3rd Annual Wetpixel & DivePhotoGuide Competition at Our World Underwater is Jan 13th. The DEEP Indonesia deadline is Feb 15th.
