Devil Ray Found In Austrailia

By Matt J. Weiss, September 18, 2008 @ 02:00 AM (EST)

Devil rays are closely related to manta rays are a spectacle to see.  A rare treat for ocean lovers. Its even a rare treat if you live in Australia and dont want to travel abroad to see them. Only 13 devil rays have been found in Australia, all of them since 1968.

The devil ray is thought to come to Australia in seek of warmer waters, despite it not normally going so far south.  Right now, its one of a few charasmatic megafauna found in the lake, including a shark and a blue grouper.
