Only days after returning from this year’s exciting DEMA, we learned that the DEMA crew actually announced a new consumer show called “Be a Diver Adventure Sports Festival,” to begin in April 2013.

The show will be dedicated to growing the diving industry to the general public and will incorporate SCUBA, adventure sports, water sports and the outdoor lifestyle. The festival will be partnered with the city of Fort Lauderdale, in which it’s held, featuring block parties, band contests and city-wide events to “engage a wide cross-section of potential new customers and current divers, and attract inactive divers back to the sport.”

“We are excited to introduce this new consumer event to help grow the dive industry,” commented Tom Ingram, Executive Director of DEMA. “This festival will create an opportunity for potential new customers from other crossover activities and industries to try diving, while simultaneously allowing current customers take advantage of the diving experiences found in South Florida, the Caribbean and beyond.”

The first Be A Diver Adventure Sports Festival will be held April 26-28, 2013 in Ft. Lauderdale.
