The open source alternative to Adobe Lightroom, Darktable, has received a significant update with the arrival of version 2.6, the product of more than six months of work. The new features include a retouch module, a filmic module, and a revamped color balance module.
The new retouch module, as the name suggests, is a collection of tools for getting rid of unwanted artifacts in your images. The new filmic module offers simple controls for reproducing the desirable properties of analog film. The updated color balance module makes it possible to adjust levels, tweak contrast, and add/remove color casts.
