There’s nothing like being able to edit your images on a giant screen, but doing this in the field is less than practical—it’s not like you can bring a 24-inch computer monitor everywhere you go. Or can you?
We would like to introduce you to the SPUD – or Spontaneous Pop-Up Display – which is a collapsible, 24-inch monitor. When folded up, the monitor is roughly the size of a 300-page book. But it opens up into a portable projectable screen that produces a 24-inch 1280?720 display. It can be used via a HDMI port or wirelessly.
Currently, the SPUD is a hit on Kickstarter, having amassed more than $200,000 in pledges with an original goal of $33,000. As of right now, you can get one of the first SPUDs for a pledge of $374, with delivery expected in mid-2017.
We’re not sure what the final MSRP will be for this device, but given its portability, it’s probably worth taking a look at. Check out the video below to see how it works.
