Between Monday 21 May and Thursday 31 May a team of technical divers is working at the Little Cayman Research Centre to understand the connections between our shallow coral reefs that are common to recreational divers and reefs at extreme depths (100 - 300ft). This study will provide important clues to how reefs are replenished and to potential new cures for diseases.
The project is funded by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration - Ocean Exploration (NOAA-OE) program, which provides grants for innovative ideas by scientists that can potentially make new discoveries from the ocean..
