On Friday evening, while the DEMA Awards Party was going on, the lobby of the Rosen Center was abuzz about underwater imaging as Wetpixel hosted their annual DEMA happy hour

We've been eager to see the new line of Sea & Sea housings, seemingly the first on the scene for the latest round of Nikon & Canon DSLR's. We finally had our chance. Jon Davy and Andy Salmon showed us the new housings, and they're all impressive, particularly the D300

DivePhotoGuide will be providing complete coverage of the 2007 DEMA Show in Orlando, Florida. We'll report on the new products, people and players that make DEMA what it is. So today's coverage is just an intro, but we wanted to begin immersing you in the DEMA vibe and keep you up to date on the show "as it happens". The show floor is hard to get through on the first day, as we bump into old friends and colleagues, many who we have not seen since the last DEMA show. I also have three seminars to present during the week, on behalf of DEMA. One down, two to go

We have complete coverage from Antibes coming next week. This week we are at the DEMA show in Orlando unveiling our new website to the dive industry! Somogyi Gyula (HelioxFilm) was in Antibes representing DivePhotoGuide and Wetpixel this year. We decided to turn our booth into the DivePhotoGuide/Wetpixel Bar, and I've received a few drunken emails already proving that it ws a good idea

The massive Jacob Javitz Center in New York was host to the PDN PhotoPlus International Conference + Expo 2007 this week, as tens of thousands of photo pros attended the three day event. Another day of touring around the unique sites of Malaysia... Far too often we use these international travel hubs, such as KL, merely as stop-over on the way to a dive destination. I highly recommend adding a few days to your itinerary to get out and about and explore some of the rich and interesting cultures in and around these hubs.

The 2007 Malaysia Dive Expo kicked off today in Kuala Lumpur, one of the larger cities and hubs in Southeast Asia. Our very own Wendy Heller is at the show, and will provide daily coverage of the event from KL, as well as the upcoming Tioman Mega Dive - stay tuned for that starting next week...

It's always interesting to glean a perspective of divers from different regions of the world. After all, we collectively share the same passion for diving and the underwater realm. The Asian dive market is quite interesting, particularly because it exists in the heart of marine bio-diversity and abundance. Historically, The Asia Dive Expo (ADEX) is usually held in Singapore, a bustling market of divers with easy access to the amazing diving of Southeast Asia. We've been attending and presenting seminars at ADEX since 2001 and are completely enamored with diving in the region. So we trekked across the globe on a 17 hour flight from New York to Bangkok for the 2007 show.
