Canon Releases Firmware Update For The EOS 5D Mark II
By Matt J. Weiss, March 16, 2010 @ 01:14 AM (EST)
I am not sure if there has ever been so much hype over a firmware upgrade as there was for V2.0.3 for the Canon EOS 5D Mark II. After initial rumors and preliminary announcements, the upgrade the video crazy Canon SLR users have been waiting for is here. The firmware upgrade brings industry standard frame rates to the camera. Those looking for broadcast standards can now shoot in precisely 29.97 fps per second, as opposed to 30fps, as well as shoot in 24fps and 25fps in full 1080p.
Other additions that come with the new firmware are the ability to manually control volume, view a histogram for video as well as shoot video in aperture and shutter priority modes.
