Canon Announces EOS Rebel T8i
By Ian Bongso-Seldrup, February 13, 2020 @ 08:00 AM (EST)

Apparently, the flagship EOS-1D X isn’t the only DSLR series Canon is bothering with in these mirrorless times: At the other end of the spectrum, the Rebel-series flagship is also getting a refresh. The EOS Rebel T8i (also called the 850D in some markets) boasts a decent spec sheet: a 24-megapixel APS-C CMOS sensor, Dual Pixel CMOS autofocus, Digic 8 processor, 7fps continuous shooting (7.5fps in Live View), and 4K/24p and 1080/60p video recording. You also get the all-important AF-On button (for back button focus) absent from Canon’s more basic entry-level DSLRs.

The EOS Rebel T8i will cost $750 body only, or $900 as a kit with the EF-S 18–55mm f/4–5.6 IS STM lens.
