Building A Better Submarine
By Matt J. Weiss, August 26, 2008 @ 02:00 AM (EST)
The US is building a research submarine to replace Alvin-the sub that took researchers down to find the those crazy abyss animals and the Titanic.
Woods Hole calls the new submarine "the most capable deep-sea research vehicle in the world.”
The sub is set to cost 50 million dollars and reach deeper depths for longer periods of time. This is obviously very exciting, as it has the potential to be part of brand new discoveries and new age of deep sea exploration.
