By Joseph Tepper, August 30, 2011 @ 07:00 AM (EST)
The British Ecological Society (BES) has announced the winners of its annual photography competition, the winning photograph taken of a green sea turtle underwater.
The theme for this year’s competition, open only to members of the Society, was “celebrating ecology.” This year’s winner is Benjamin Magana Rodriguez, a PhD candidate at the University of Wellington, for his stunning image of a green sea turtle and snorkelers. Mr. Rodriguez wins $1200 and will have his picture displayed at the BES Annual meeting and published in the December 2012 BES Bulletin.
The winning images can be viewed on the BBC Nature website, and more information on the competition can be found on the BES website.
