Blackmagic Releases DaVinci Resolve 16
By Ian Bongso-Seldrup, April 9, 2019 @ 04:30 AM (EST)

Blackmagic Design has released a major update of its DaVinci Resolve video editing application. DaVinci Resolve 16 features a new cut page designed to allow editors to work fast. The software includes the new DaVinci Neural Engine, which uses machine learning for new features such as facial recognition and speed warp.

Other new features include adjustment clips, which allow you to apply effects and grades to clips on the timeline; quick export, giving you ability to upload work to YouTube and Vimeo easily at any time; and new GPU-accelerated scopes offer greater technical monitoring options. Also, Blackmagic’s visual effects and motion graphics creator, Fusion, is now part of DaVinci Resolve and runs much faster.

DaVinci Resolve 16 is available now as a free download. The paid version, DaVinci Resolve Studio 16, costs $299 and comes with additional features, including the DaVinci Neural Engine; multi-user collaboration; stereoscopic 3D tools; ResolveFX and FairlightFX plugins; HDR grading; and film grain, blur and mist effects.

Check out the video below for an introduction to the new features.
