BenQ has announced a new 27-inch monitor aimed at exacting photographers who need 4K resolution (3840x2160) as well as very accurate colors. The SW271 features BenQ’s AQCOLOR technology, which gives users complete control over color via both hardware calibration and the company’s Palette Master Elements software. The display of high dynamic range (HDR) content is also supported.
The monitor’s GamutDuo feature allows users to view content simultaneously in different color spaces, and a “hotkey puck” makes it possible to toggle between modes, including 99% Adobe RBG coverage, 100% sRGB/Rec. 709 coverage, 93% DCI-P3 coverage, plus a black and white option. The 10-bit display offers more than a billion colors, promising super-smooth color gradations.
The monitor offers DisplayPort 1.4 and HDMI 2.0 connectivity, and a USB-C port, USB 3.1 port, and SD card reader are also on board. A detachable shade is included. The SW271 is available now for $1,100.
