BBC Modifies Typhoon HD4 To Shoot Super Slow Motion Underwater
May 11, 2009 @ 01:00 AM (EST)
The TyphoonHD4 was the first digital high-speed HD camera with a underwater housing allowing slow motion filming underwater. The BBC released footage from a new documentary South Pacific, filmed with a modified TyphoonHD4. The camera is capable of filming in super slow motion and high definition at 20 times the speed of a normal HD camera. They released two very unique clips from the inside of a 12 foot monster barrel wave. Let's not forget to mention that the cost of this rig is about $100,000!
About The Typhoon HD4
The TyphoonHD4 digital high-speed camera system is the predecessor of the TyphoonHD5. It's still up to market. This camera combines a high light sensitivity, high picture resolution and ultra high frame rates.
