Backscatter Publishes Video on the Best Settings and Gear for Shooting Macro with the Olympus E-PL10
By Ian Bongso-Seldrup, November 13, 2020 @ 07:30 AM (EST)

At the beginning of last month, Backscatter published a detailed review of the Olympus PEN E-PL10 camera in the Backscatter E-PL10 Octo housing, praising the camera as the “Best Bang For Your Buck in Underwater Photography.” Now the company has published the first of three video tutorials on how to get the most out of the system: Part 1 is on shooting macro images with a strobe.

Robin Dodd, Backscatter’s Media Producer, walks viewers through configuring different macro setups with the E-PL10 and explains what manual camera settings to use—both set-once-and-forget “on the boat” settings and “in the water” settings to adjust as you’re shooting. For reference, there’s also a handy downloadable PDF “cheat sheet” with all the settings mentioned in the video.

Future tutorials on using the E-PL10 will tackle shooting wide-angle photos with strobes as well as capturing macro and wide-angle video.
