
Baby Whale Dies Tangled In Nets

A baby whale has died after it got tangled in shark nets along the KwaZulu-Natal south coast.
Lifeguards in Amanzimtoti said there was an outcry by residents when the whale became stuck in the nets and drowned at midday on Sunday.
The police search and rescue team, Netcare 911 and the Natal Sharks Board were all called in to try and help the whale.
"Divers had to swim beneath the shark nets to cut the whale free. But it was too late," Netcare 911 spokesperson Chris Botha said...
